In a hospitized infant fear of separation from.mother and anxiety in hospital due to environment and due to invasive procedures

The Holistic care /psychological care priority needs to be addressed for a hospitized infant is care of patient as infant is self care deficit (physical need) need proper time and care . Mother and infant closeness should be promoted and mother need to breastfeed infant to maintain proper nutrition also to reduce fear of anxiety in infants , mother - child separation is avoided and mother is educated to spend time with infant to build relation with infant ,play therapy and toys given to reduce anxiety in hospitalized infant (psychological need).

Risk for trauma is need to be assessed in hospitalized infant as in them risk of trauma due to fall or any invasive procedures are very high and need more vigilance and support to reduce risk for trauma

Nutritional need to be completed by promoting breastfeeding in infants by mother and breast milk can be stored and given with spoon in infant on Ryles tube feeding or unable to suck due to any reason

Hypothermia is most common in infant and can lead to severe problem which need to be addressed by assessing sign and symptoms and explaining mother's about sign and symptom of hypothermia , providing heat to infant by placing under radiation and monitoring body temperature to reduce risk of hypothermia .

Diversional activities to be promoted and taught to mother and family members so that environmental need of infant is fulfilled by promoting roaming with infant in corridor ,taking infant in fresh air , talk to infant and try to indulge the infant in activities even during hospitalization
