Provide three examples of the exchange of vital substances in animals.
- For each substance
- List the substance List organs or organ systems involved in the exchange of the substance in humans
- Describe a different strategy for the exchange of the substance in a non-vertebrate animal
1.Cardiovascular system-it is mainly involved in Transport ofoof and nutrients to tissues andRemoves waste products.
lymphatic-involved in Returning of tissue fluid to blood Defends against foreign organisms.
Respiratory-Oxygen/carbon dioxide exchange
2. In Algae Gas exchange occurs mainly by diffusion across their membranes. In simple multicellular organisms example like green algae, their cells may be close to the environment, and gas exchange can occur easily.
In fish it uses gills for exchange of gases Fish breathes by taking water into its mouth and forcing it out through the gill passages.when the water passes over the thin walls of the gills, dissolved oxygen moves into the blood and travels to the fish's cells.
In earthworm they breath through skin. Air dissolves on the mucus of their skin, so if they have to breathe they should stay moist or they will suffocate.
These are the strategies used for exchange of substance in nonvertibrates
