The da vinci Surgical System is a robotic surgical system and founded by American company Intuitive Surgical.It is used to perform surgery using a minimally invasive approach and controlled by a surgeon from a console.It is approved by FDA in 2000.This system provides patients with precision and control during a surgery.

Three components of the DaVinci surgical system are 1.surgeon's console 2.a cart with robotic arms 3.Vision system

Surgeon console:Surgeon controls the 3d endoscope and endowrist instruments.The alignments of the instruments,hands and eyes are replicated in the display of the console.Surgeons can adjust the screen's view to see multiple images at a time.The console is few feet away from the operating table and from console surgeon controls the movement of surgical instruments and camera.

Patient side carts:This has four arms and they are the surgical component of the robotic system.These four arms are latched rom a remote centre.This helps the surgical instruments to move freely and reduces the force exerted to a patient.A second surgeon will stand near to this side cart .The arms have endowrist which can be bend like human wrist.Robotic arms are used to control the endoscopic instruments and they have high precision.

Visual cart:It is a image processing unit and has 24 inch touch screen monitor, electro surgical unit and series of rack.They have three dimensional lens system which can magnify the surgical field up to 10 times.Optics at the tip of scope helps surgeon to see anatomical structures clearly.The vision system has high definition ,3D endoscope and image processing unit.A view of operating field is available on the visual cart and helps the surgeon to have the visualization of the surgery.
