Three observations that were crucial to the development of American colonies were--1) Political reason-British rulers were in favour of the development of colonies for wealth and power.Charters were granted to groups of businessmen by the British monarch and they offered help to colonists to make their settlement in the new world. So political reason mainly concerns government, rights and power.2) Economic reasons -The colonists hunger for gold and sliver brought them to America in search for wealth as they felt America had rich reserves of wealth. Colonial settlements offered business opportunities for merchants. In America there was plenty of land. The people of Britain, Ireland and rest of Europe were farmers and had small lands .So they came to America to occupy land.3) Social reasons--Many colonists came to America in search of a better life.People of Britain, Ireland ,Scotland , Germany came to America to get rid of poverty, political instability, famine , disease and to escape from war.America offered new life to them.
