Write a Professional Email

Imagine you are asked by your manager to give a “get to know you” presentation at the next team meeting. He tells you that the subject of your presentation can be any topic of personal significance to you, but he will need to know what you plan to present so that he can plan the other content of the meeting.

Using what you have learned about writing emails, and compose in a Word document a message to your manager accepting the opportunity to make this presentation. Briefly summarize what you propose to present, including anything specific you will need as part of your presentation.

Your response should be from 250 to 300 words in length. Submit your completed assignment using the link below.

Solutions

Expert Solution

Solution: The email template or structure that can be used in this particular scenario is as below:

1) An opening note of thanks

Dear Mr.ABC,

I would like to thank you for providing me an opportunity to give a "get to know me" presentation at the team meeting.

2) A two paragraph content or body discussing what you intend to present during the meeting.

The presentation could start by providing the team more information about your educational background, your work experience and your interests or hobbies.

You could also provide more information about your family members and the strengths that you bring to the role or the workplace.

Finally you could talk briefly about a topic that is very dear to you like environment, sports, music or movies.

3) A final sentence or two discussing how you intend to present that is via Slides or Videos or Pictures and the time you would take for the presentation.

4) A final sentence asking for any suggestions for the presentation.
