Importance of selecting current article for nursing practice & research

More recently the term evidence based nursing has emerged. This term has evolved from the use of current best evidence in making decisions about the care of individual patient.

So as a nurse it is very important to focus on the current & updated article in patient care, which always comes with more useful, cost effective & outcome rich practices.

The practice of evidence based medicine means integrating individual clinical expertise with the best available external clinic evidence from systematic research

Why basic understanding on EBP is important

Many areas of professionals practice, such as mrdicime, nurdinu, psychology & so forth, have a period in their past where practice was based on loose bodies of knowledge

Furthermore, nursing practice are generally based on the nurses past experience, however thet is little scientific evidence to support nurses clinical decision making and expected outcomes.

While nursing practice based on research evidence contribute to achieving client outcome & making nursing practice credible.

Therefore nurses need to make their practice on empirical evidences to optimise client outcome to provide cost effective safe practice & to enhance credibility of nurdinu care

Roots of Evidence based nursing can be traced in Florence Nightingale's era of nursing practice. Her concepts of promoting health, preventing disease & care of the sick were central ideas of her system.

It involves identifying solid research findings & implementing them in nursing practices, in order to increase the quality of patient care.

The term research utilisation & evidence based practices are used interchangeably. However in real science, the term research utilisation is a narrow term, which is used for the use of empirically generated knowledge for nursing practices.
