Short explanatory notes on decalcification provess.
Declaficaiton is the process of removing calcium from the
tissue. calcified tissue should be decalficied before processing.
using experienced technique piece of tissue properly decalcified.
different tissue types need different tissue in the decacifying
solution depending on the size and density of the tissue. this
process need monitoring over several hours or days. strat
decalficaiton at the beginning of the week not on the weekend for
maintaining constant observation of the tissue.
Remove the excess tissue from around the bone if tissue is not
needed it help for better penetration of decalcifying solution into
the tissue.fix the tissue completely and remove tissue from
fixative and rinse in the tap water. place the tissue in 10% formic
acid solution till tissue determined to be decalcified. this
process take several hours to days. use large amount of solution to
tissue and change the solution daily if process take more than one
day. remove tissue from formic acid and rinse in running tapwater
for ten minutes. place the tissue in 70% ethanol for storage and
delivery.
