Solutions

Expert Solution

The option 2600 is the right answer

* Daily saturated fat intake = 40 grams

1 gram fat produces= 9 calories .

therefore the calorie from 40 grams of saturated fat = 40 x 9 = 360 kcal

* Daily unsaturated fat intake = 40 grams

1 gram fat produces= 9 calories .

therefore the calorie from 40 grams of unsaturated fat = 40 x 9 = 360 kcal

* Daily cholesterol intake = 260 mgs

It contains no fat . The body cannot derive energy from cholestrol.

* Daily starch intake = 260 grams

starch gives out 4 calories of energy from 1 gram

therefore the calorie obtained from 260 grams of starch = 240 x 4 = 960 kcal

* Daily simple sugar intake = 140 grams

sugar gives out 4 calories from 1 gram

therefore the calorie obtained from the 140 grams of sugar = 140 x 4 = 560 kcal

*  Daily fiber intake = 9 grams

Daily fiber intake of 1 gram might be considered as beeing providing with 4 calories of energy

therefore 9 grams of fiber provides certain amount of energy. that is = 9 x 4 = 36 kcal

*  Daily protein intake = 70 grams

1 gram also provides 4 calories of energy

therefore the 70 grams of the potien gives out energy as much as= 4 x 70 = 280 kcal

* Daily sodium intake = 3500 mgs

salt does not produce the calories.

so lets calculate the total amount of calories: 360+ 360+ 960 + 560+ 36+ 280 = 2560 kcal
