ETHICAL DILEMMAS
DEFINITION
An ethical dilemma (moral dilemma or ethical paradox) is a problem in the decision making process between two possible options, neither of which is absolutely acceptable from an ethical perspective.
EXAMPLES
1. Your critically ill family member is in the hospital and the doctors and nurses are turning to you to make medical decisions on the patients behalf. You don't know how to decide what to do and could use some guidance.
Solutions: In this situation you can contact the ethical committee group in the hospital. It includes physicians,nurses,social workers and other health care team members who are available to help patients , families , and other healthcare providers when they face difficult ethical decisions.
2. Discrimination and harrassment in the workplace.
Solutions: We can prevent the discrimination and harrassment in the workplace by setting a complaint protocol. Each and every employee having the right to give complaint against the harrassment. Another solution is review campany policies at meetings and keep records. And also its important that manager and leaders in the company handles allegations and complaints of discrimination consistently.
