Should we be concerned about man-made climate change?

It is believed that unprecedented warming of earth over the last century is due to human activities such as industrialization, deforestation, burning of fossil fuels, etc. But the question here is should we worry about this temperature rise? According to me, this higher carbon dioxide concentration is not new for earth. Million years ago, the highest carbon concentration was 2000 ppm, which is much higher than present concentration of 400-500 ppm.

However, here the problem is not present concentration but the rate of increase of carbon dioxide concentration in atmosphere. Since industrialization, human has added more than 100 ppm of CO2 in earth’s atmosphere. With this rate it will take only a few thousand years to reach 2000 ppm. With such high CO2, the temperature of earth is also increasing every year. Since industrialization, the atmosphere has warmed the earth by 1.8 degree Fahrenheit. The oceans have become warmer thereby disturbing the water circulation cycle across the globe.

Though high CO2 concentration is good for plant growth and crop cultivation but the current CO2 concentration is so high that even plant and crops are not able to take up excess Carbon from atmosphere.

Thus, in nutshell we all must get concerned about man-made climate change
