HIPPA stands for Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act and was formed in 1966. This policy was fomed to create a new standard in healthcare system. It is mainly designed to improve the efficiency of the healthcare system.

This policy is important because-

1- It will protect your health information data

2- It will provide the privacy of your information.

3- It will also set a standard.

In my opinion, it is good because of the above reasons.

The above mentioned importance of the HIPPA is also the strength of the HIPAA policy.

The weakness of the policy are-

1- It will increase the burden of the expenses on healthcare.

2- It even doesn’t allow doctors to share information with family members.

3- It generates a huge number of complaint reports every year which makes it hectic for the healthcare staff.

Some recommendations for policy improvement are-

1- reduce the extra cost of expenses

2- allow the sharing of relevant data with the family members.
