• Assess the patient for pain ,this provides baseline data to plan for care
• Administer medication to relieve pain and encourage patient to mobilise
• Change of positions to prevent pressure sores to maintain skin integrity
• Provide passive exercise to improve circulation and prevent food drop ,if not done during mobilising the patient will not be able to stand and walk on feet

The patient should be able to move out of bed to do his basic needs
