Given that population growth is a key determinant of economic growth, should the US encourage more immigration to increase the supply of labor and hence economic growth?
Immigration is one the factor that that effect economic growth. Most the time, immigration lead to increase in per capita income. Which Ultimately improves the standard of living of overall population of the country.
In US, Immigration is one of the most important factor, which affect population growth and thereby affect supply of labor and hence economic growth. It directly effect labor wage and jobs opportunities. There is no doubt that Immigration is a key determinant of economic growth but at the same time, Immigration adversely impact the wages of the general US population. The basic reason behind is that, immigrants are ready to work even if wages are low.
If US encourage more immigration to increase the supply of labor, there is a greater possibility of illegal activities also. So, while encourage more immigration this point also taken into consideration.
US economy is very much supported by immigrants as they are ready to work even if wages are at low level. Which might not be the case for many of the US population. Immigrants contribute to the US economy by paying more taxes. immigration have positive impact on the US economy, which thereby not only benefit immigrants but also benefit overall population of the country. In US, immigration increased the share of total population which is employed.
Immigration play important key role US economy because immigration generally associated with transfer of innovations and technology. Immigrant entrepreneurship create job opportunities for the overall population of the country. It has huge impact on job creation.
As we discussed above, there is some points which must be taken into consideration as far as Immigration is concerned.
