Describe the Spine Center model. How does it differ from prevailing approaches to the delivery of spine care?
Spine Centre Model:
1. Planning & feasibility:- The first step in developing a Spine Center is to make a business plan. This plan will serve as a blueprint for the Center. This plan is relates to business, clinical and economical issues. This is a critical step because if there is no agreement between the physicians as to his/her interrelationship, clinical guidelines and economic participation, there can be no Center.
2. Marketing:- The development of the centre plan allows all team to project surgical/physician requirements that is based on the growth of the program. Good marketing, public relations and centre promotional activities are required to build compete with local competitive forces.
3. Implementation: Once the plan model has been structured, implementation can be representing by recruiting a multi-disciplinary team, beginning with a group of specialists. Physician participation is critical in this process in order to find out clinical outcomes, hire a management team, select an outcomes data collection system, and identify resources for public relations & marketing.
4. Outcomes:-Clinical algorithms should be coordinate with diagnostic and therapeutic interventions, maximize clinical outcomes, reduced cost of care.
It is differ from the prevailing approach because spinal care Awareness regarding the purpose of spinal care centre on the part of the general population, attendants of the patients, clinical and paraclinical team regarding spinal cord injury needs to be addressed.
