  • use relative frequency distribution if we focus on comparing diffrent classes to the whole
  • use frequency distribution if we focus on comparing diffrent classes

2. class should'nt overlap so there is no confusion as to which class an observation belong.

3. stem and leaf plot is a graph that is similar to histogram but it display more information.The plot can be constructed using pencil and paper in case of stem and leaf. value of each individual point can be recovered from a plot.

ADVANTAGE OF STEM AND LEAF

  • It is convnient to use on determining mode and median of set of data quickly
  • it is used to quickly organise large list of data values
  • outliners, data clusters or graph are easily visible

DISADVANTAGE OF STEM AND LEAF

  • a stem and leaf plot is less informative for small set of data
