provide an example of considerations the disability support provider must have when working with a client relating to client's culture
United States is one of the most diversified nation in the world with a variety of communities from different cultures like Indo-Americans, African-Americans, Asian-Americans, Mexican and a lot more which indicates the need and importance of implementing a quality reform in healthcare which is culturally and linguistically appropriate for the patients of disability support services. To deliver such service, cultural considerations of the patients and their families along with the care giver becomes very crucial. One example of such consideration that the disability support provider must have when working with a client relating to client's culture is to better understand the religious belief, practices, preferences and their behaviors because these things significantly affect their choice to use the formal care services. For instance if a patient is hispanic and his disability support provider can not speak or understand Spanish, there will be huge communication gap and the patient will not get a quality care. In the same way, if a patient is a Jews but the disability support provider has no idea about Kosher diet, he/she will not be able to deliver the food item of their preferences and hence the patient will quickly drop the disability support program as they are very sensitive and serious about their Kosher meal.
