One major issue of the modern world that I want to understand in more depth is the reason behind the prevalance of gender discrimination, physical and mental assault, sexual abuse and other forms of exploitation against women in almost every nation of the world. Today, we talk about equality, women empowernment, ethics, changing culture and modern society but still as we talk, some women in any part of the world is getting physically assaulted or sexually abuse. Not only developing nations where a lot of population lack proper education but even in developed nation like United States, a huge number of cases are reported every year. As far as my knowledge is concerned about this issue, I only know the things that are either on the news, internet, articles and other literature but there is a lot that we do not know like what are the intentions behind when someone does that to a women, are all the cases being reported, why after so many efforts there is no downfall in the number of cases, what other ways can be used to address this issue and many more. When we talk about its origin, it has always been part of our society. According to a report of European Journal of Archaeology, evidence have been found that states that geneder discrimination has been a constant part of human society for as long as 8000 years ago. Even if we do not go to ancient times and talk about the eras of human civilization, we will find that women were always seen as commodities. They were used, exploited, traded, abused and dumped. The reason that I want to know more about it because it will make us understand about the psychology of males behind this behavior and other factors that could be responsible to potentially trigger this aspect of human nature. By learning more in depth about this issue, we can most probably find the root of this problem and may be we can successfully eliminate it from our society.
