This week we will have an opportunity to create and practice a phone script. The purpose of this script is to attempt to get an appointment over the telephone. Please be sure to read both Week 4 and 5 lectures before participating. Pay particular attention to the sample script presented below. Writing a successful script is a foundation of selling. This Discussion will help you start with your sales success.

Below is a sample phone script. Compare the script to the example in the lectures and identify what is missing and what needs to be added. Then, post a revised script that you believe would be more effective at getting the appointment. Create a new script to make Mr. Brown say yes!

Sales Rep: Hello! Am I speaking to Mr. Wood?

Mr. Wood; Hello! Yes, Mr. Wood speaking. How can I help you?

Sales Rep: Sir,I'm calling from Air Freeifer and I just wanted to share the insights of a newly concluded research on hotel rooms and what makes them attractive by our firm.

Mr. Wood: Alright! I'm all ears.

Sales Rep: Sir, our study had more than 400 participants and more than 70% of them were smokers. We contacted the participants right after they had checked out from their respective hotel rooms. We asked them what they really liked and disliked in their hotel rooms. And, to our suprise more than 80% of the respondents who were satisfied with their hotel rooms said they really liked how the cleaniness of the room and the way the room smelled when they checked-in.

Mr. Wood: Okay. We usually keep our rooms clean.

Sales Rep: Certainly, sir. We are very well aware of that fact but having around 100 smoking rooms and not getting them purified can definitely put a dent on your sales prospects.

Mr. Wood: I see.

Sales Rep: Sir, if you can give me 15 mins of your time then I can help you provide a solution for the same.

Mr. Wood: Yeah sure. Sounds great.

Sales Rep: Wonderful, sir. Is 20th of this month good for you

Mr. Wood: Yeah, that works. Around 2'o clock?

Sales Rep: Sure, sir. That works for me. I shall see you on the 20th then. Thank you very much for your time,

Mr. Wood: Thank you. good day!
