What is the proper balance between liberty and order? Under what circumstances should civil liberties be restrained?
Liberty and order are very much debated topics and people have different views regarding this. We will carefully study about each of views. First, suppose we are living in a world with absolute freedom or liberty to do anything, In other words there is no government or government has no significant role. In this situation, everyone will be caring about themselves without considering other. For example: you possess something which other people also wants it, they will simply take it from you assuming they are stronger than you, and you might kill others in self defence and there will be no consequesces for this. We can clearly see that complete liberty leads to increase in crime, no security to life and total choas.
Second, suppose we are living in world with abslute order or government has too much power. If government has too much power or government is trying to implement very restrictive laws such as using an internet. These restrictive laws limits the very basic rights of human. More government interference will the lead to world with no liberty or very limed liberty/freedom.
We can see from above that how absolute freedom leads to increase in crime and no publicorder and absolute order leads to no freedom. So, we need a proper balace between liberty and order in such a way that the laws or order which restricts the liberty must be justifiable for greater good to the people. For example: Circumstances restraining civil liberties such as banning drags, might be against the liberty of some who wants to consume it but for greater good and for maintaing order in society; banning drugs is completely justifiable.
