what studies examine populations and are used to find correlations between two factors?

Solutions

Expert Solution

POPULATION STUDY

A group of individual of the same sppecies and interbreeding within a given area is called population .Scientific study a population by examining how individual in that population interact with each other and how the population interact with its envirnment .

1.DEMOGRAPHIC STUDY

The study of the characteristic of population is known as DEMOGRAPHY .It help to study include any statistical factors that influence population growth or decline ,but several parameters are particularly important .population size, density ,age ,structure, birth rate ,mortality, and sex ratio .

2.CASE CONTROL STUDY

As opposed to descriptive studies where a study population is defined and then observations are made on a representative sample from it ,in case control studies observations are made on a group of patients .

example-a study of a patient with bipolar disorder may include every patient with this disorder attending the psychatric OPD during the study period .

3.POPULATIONS IN COHORT STUDIES

This study camparing two group of people and it helps to demonstrate whether or not there are cases of disease among the cohort exposed to the suspected cause than among the cohort not exposed .

EXAMPLE -To determine whether an association exsist between positive family history of schizophrenia and subsequent schizophrenia in persons having such as history, two cohort to be required .FIRST GROUP (People with family history of mental disorders )SECOND(People without family history of mental disorders ) ,that means exposed group and unexposed group .

4.SAMPLE STUDY

This are two types

a) Non random sample study .

b) Random sampling method .

CONCLUSION

Demographic statistic study of population provide standardized metrics for comparing populations and extinction risk.We cant manage populations based on demographic parametrs alone .however ,demographic provide a baseline for monitoring population health and offer insight into the mechanisams driving population declines .
