1) What do you think about having a moral dilemma such as terrorism dealt with through the hands of government? (200 words)
The Moral Dilemmas states that a democratic nation is required to to deal terrorism as per the principles and values that are derived from its democratic nature, first among which are the preservation of the rule of law and respect for human rights. A moral dilemma consists of the clash of values that makes it harder to act because selecting any of the alternatives will be inconsistent with the obligations and values of decision maker's. It is a moral duty of the democratic state to protect its citizens, their security and lives in particular. There may be a moral dilemma when have to choose between the lives of citizens and the soldiers; and the lives of compatriots of the attacking terrorists; thus it is important that government should handle such sensitive concerns.
The moral dilemma such as terrorism dealt with through the hands of government as holds the ability to win the “war of ideas,” and strengthen the country's security at home as well as abroad. The United States, with the unique ability of project power and to build partnerships holds the capability to fight against terrorist organizations of global reach. Governments can also address terrorism through international cooperation with the usage of international law and numerous civil liberties and human rights.
