This is for a Cell Biology class:

"You must find a way to disrupt the normal function of MAPT. You will need to do some digging around but remember that all I need is the name of a compound or product, no need for specifics."

Thank you for any input!

Expert Solution

MAPT codes for the microtubule-associated protein Tau. This gene provides the information for coding for a specific protein called Tau. This protein is involved in stabilising the microtubules thereby making the cytoskeleton rigid. Hence any inhibitors that are able to stop the normal physiological action of Tau protein will stop the function of Tau protein. If one wants to disrupt the normal function of MAPT then mutations can be induced in the MAPT genes which will disrupt the production of Tau protein and thereby affect the final function of stabilising the cytoskeleton framework. A few extracts from some of the plant species also work as inhibitors of this MAPT gene such as the Semecarpus anacardium Linn. leaf extract. The research paper regarding to this inhibitor is being attached in this link so you can use it for further reading. Hope it helps: Virtual screening of MAP-Tau protein inhibitors from Semecarpus anacardium Linn. leaf extract for cancer prevention. A biology class has 28 students. Find the probability that at least two students in the class have the same birthday. For simplicity, assume that there are always 365 days in a year and that birth rates are constant throughout the year. (Hint: First, determine the probability that no 2 students have the same birthday and then apply the complementation rule.)

Assume that you work in a cell biology lab and investigate the role of some biomarkers in cell differentiation. Your advisor asked you to determine whether or not the cells that you have prepared in the lab has any potential to form stem cells. In previous experiments, other researchers have found that early biomarkers known as Oct4, Sox2, KLF4 and MYC were an indicator for stem cell formation. After you labelled your cells and counted the expression of these biomarkers...

A distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) attack is a malicious attempt to disrupt normal traffic of a targeted server, service or network by overwhelming the target or its surrounding infrastructure with a flood of Internet traffic. DDoS attacks achieve effectiveness by utilizing multiple compromised computer systems as sources of attack traffic. Exploited machines can include computers and other networked resources such as IoT devices. From a high level, a DDoS attack is like a traffic jam clogging up with highway, preventing regular...
