You are to fire a cannon and are trying to hit a target 300 meters due east of your current position. Your cannon fires projectiles with a mass of 2 kg and with an initial speed of 60 m/s. Gravity is pulling the projectile downward at an acceleration of 9.8 m/s2. There is a wind blowing from the north pushing the projectile southward with a force of 3 N. What is the angle θ up from the ground you must aim the cannon, and what is the angle φ the direction you must turn the cannon to the north? There is a large ridge between the cannon and the target, so your angle of inclination θ must be greater than 45 degrees. Use the acceleration vector given by the wind and gravity, the initial velocity, and the initial position (the origin), to find a position function for the projectile. This will depend on t, θ, and φ. Once you have this function, solve for t, θ, and φ.

You are testing a new t-shirt cannon. You decide to fire the t-shirts vertically straight up in the air so that you do not have to walk to pick up the launched t-shirts. First, a green t-shirt is launched vertically upwards with a speed of 12 m/s. Exactly 1.0 s later, a blue t-shirt is launched vertically upwards with a speed of 18 m/s. At what time (after the launch of the first green t-shirt) will the two shirts collide,...

Amy and bob are in an archery competition. the goal is to hit a target taht is on a wall 50m away from them horizontally. the target is 21m vertically above the ground, and both competitors hold their bows 1m above the ground, so the vertical displacement is 20m. they both use the same bow, which shoots arrows at a speed of 35 m/s at the moment of release. I'm trying to write a feet to meters and centimeters program and I'm looking for a little help so I can see how close I got. It should do the following: Write a convertToMetric class that has the following field: standard - holds a double, standard length value in feet. The class should have the following methods: Constructor - that accepts a length in feet (as a double) and stores it in the standard field. setStandard - accepts a standard...
