Three significant considerations when measuring very small currents:
?Current in any circuit is measured by a device called ammeter. When ammeter is connected in series with the circuit same small current flows through the ammeter. The reading in the ammeter is correct. Ammeter should have minimum resistance so that there is no volatge drop across its terminals. It will give us correct reading of the current without any loss in current.
2. As photons strike the wire and the electrons are emitted from the wire. The electron flow constitutes the small current. The resistivity is the characteristic of the material which should be low. Low resistivity leads to low resistance and it does not block the flow of electrons. So there is no drop in current.
3. Length and diameter of the wire should be chosen properly so that the
should not give large value of resistance and it should not block the flow of current through it.
