You have a camera that is sensitive in the visible light range. Your 3D printing
facility has informed you that all inks are out except the transparent type. Your group
mates try to paint or attach opaque black tape to the printed transparent ink, but only
small, tiny pieces manage to stick and you cannot cover the box with such pieces - it is
too much work. To make matters worse, your assignment to make a pinhole camera is
due tomorrow and you did not work on it, even though the instructor warned you
multiple times about this.
Suddenly you realize that you could create a "negative pinhole" or pinspeck camera, by
blocking the light that would have been collected by a pinhole camera.
a) How do you implement your pinhole camera?
b) Does it have any limitations?

Expert Solution

As in above question if i am out of ink .there are many other alternative ways i can use them like

I can paint it with black primer paint , rubber paint

Or you can make glue paint at home just mix some glue with black painting color

-> I can use black sheet/paper and make it stick with glue (this is time taking and neither recommend because it take time to cover all place)

-> I can use cardboard boxes like i used shoe box during my school days

Now i am going to tell you the procedure to make pin hole camera

Material required

box, photo paper, thin piece of metal like a can or brass shim, aluminum foil ,tape, knife, needle, and sand paper(if possible rough surface also work)

And if you are thinking about of making pinspeck camera it is just a optical reverse of pinhole so it will make a negative image (shadow image) for that you have to buy light sensitive plastic sheets

I can tellhow i imliment my pin hole camera

1 Poke a tiny hole in the brass shim with a needle and sand it smooth. Trim the shim so there is a little space around the hole you can also use aluminum foil with multiple layers

2 You can use a shoe box, or other any cardboard box  The box must be light proof if it is not then cover that place with tape or black paper with glue. When the lid is on and the shutter is closed the inside is completely dark. The only light comes through the pinhole. Make sure there are no holes or openings in the box. In case if you have paint then i will suggest you to paint it but as per your question paint is not possible then use black paper and stick it with the help of glue. It is better if your box is already black

3 fix your pinhole behind square opeaning withbthe help of tape

Then make a flape cover so it can shutter yourbpin hole like in shutter camera or in every camera

4 now fix your light sensitive photo paper in to the black box this is the most sensitive part of all process bc this thing you have to do in the dark place , you can use store room ,bathroom or you can make temporary dark room

5 You will need developer, fixer, water, tongs, towels, and a safe light in you dark room. It must be pitch black when safe light is off. you can use orange LED halloween lights as a safe light. It is cheaper and you get more light than a small red darkroom bulb. If you are not expert in this then you can take help of developer

I am attaching some pics of prototype

2 Limitation

(a) the image formed is detail less it is faint

(b) it can not be used for moving object

(c) For changing film or to see your last capture pic you need to access to dark room

(d) long exposure time

(e) you can not see what are you capturing untill you have a temporary dark room

I Think it will be helpful

We have a project for the investment of 3D printing equipment in $ 800,000. It is estimated that operating costs such as maintenance, supplies, etc. will be $ 60,000 per year. It is also expected that the income will be $ 180,000 in year 1 and that it will increase $ 6,000 each year through the tenth year. The equipment can be sold at the end of these 10 years at $ 350,000. With a TREMA of 14% per year,...

Cameras have various mechanisms to control how the light falls onto the light-sensitive surface. Lenses focus the light entering the camera, the size of the aperture can be widened or narrowed to let more or less light into the camera, and a shutter mechanism determines the amount of time the photosensitive surface is exposed to the light. - Write a short report in 5 pages (Word File) about how a camera is used as an optical instrument used to record...

The human eye is most sensitive to green light of wavelength 505 nm . Experiments have found that when people are kept in a dark room until their eyes adapt to the darkness, a single photon of green light will trigger receptor cells in the rods of the retina. 1.What is the frequency of this photon? 2.How much energy (in joules and eV ) does it deliver to the receptor cells? 3.To appreciate what a small amount of energy this...

You are the manager of Spartan Care–a local Redi-Care facility. While this facility serves a range of clients, everyone agrees that quick service is very important (defined as the difference from the time that clients arrive and are registered at the front desk until they are seen either by a nurse or a doctor). Currently, you have been receiving numerous complaints from the clients that the time spent waiting to see someone is simply too long. To assess the situation,...
