Q) Renewable materials are the materials which if used in long run will not go out of stock, they are replaced by nature, they contain carbon, are biodegradable and if left untreated they can degrade on their own without causing harm to nature, they free us from disposal and storage problem in long run.

There are two forms of energy resources they are Non-renewable and the Renewable resources. The Non-renewable resources are the resources, which if used frequently gets exhausted, and takes long years to get replenished, they are the fossil fuels. The other mode of resources provided by nature are those, which after being used repeatedly are replaced naturally. These renewable resources are also called alternative sources of energy, some of the examples of renewable resources are solar energy, Wind energy, the energy obtained from oceanic current, hydroelectric energy, Energy produced from biomass etc.

These resources can be created or replaced in due course, even though they are used repeatedly.

Benefits of using renewable materials:-

A major benefit of using these renewable resources materials are they produce less pollution, during the process of its usage other benefits are they reduces soil erosion, greenhouse gases, global warming, health hazards due to pollution, helps as a huge resource of alternative energy.

Production of Renewable energy resources are labour intensive, so they generate more employment as compared to the Non-renewable resources use.

Geothermal energy obtained from underground reservoirs of steam and hot water can be used to generate electricity or to heat and cool buildings directly, throughout the year, making it as a renewable and reliable source of energy.

Use of biogas helps in reducing pollution, they are mostly the agricultural products or domestic wastes produced from households, so by anaerobic oxidation when fuel is produced, it’s like producing best out of waste, it also frees us from the worries of dumping our house hold wastes.

The energies obtained from solar energy are stored in cells and are used at the time of requirement, they emit zero emission, keeps environment clean and pollution free.

Now a days some algae's are used to prepare water bottles, once the water get finished from the bottle, they start shrinking in size, by using this material we can help our planet free from plastic pollution which causes various diseases and reduces the biodiversity. These Bottles made out of algae are renewable materials.

Polylactic acid, or PLA, is a biopolymer derived from corn. They are used to make food containers for the food service industry, and are used to make cups, lids and bioplastic cutlery. Products made from PLA are renewable and can be composted.

Recycled glass is another renewable resource, Recycled crushed glass, called cullet, is mixed in with raw materials to produce new glass. Cullet is less expensive than normal raw materials of glass manufacturing and it uses less energy to melt. Recycled glass used to make new containers, or used as material for kitchen counters.

These are the various benefits of using renewable materials.
