By giving clear examples, explain the relationship between the
following as
related to engineering design and project
a) Design criteria and design constraints
b) Project resources and project budget
c) Feasibility studies and site exploration
d) Design questions and project objectives tree
e) Customer (user) needs and aesthetics
Ans:-
a. Design criteria and design constraints - Based on the requirement the designing of the structure will take place and the client explains the requirement of the structure to the designer so that the designer will design the structure. Based on the plan the execution will take place. In this case, the relationship between owner/client and designer have to be good.
Eg:- Designing of house for two families, So the designer design 2B,2K,1H, etc.
b. Project resources and project budget- The resources for the construction should be taken care of based on the budget of the project. With less budget, we can't able to construction a good and serviceable structure with the best resources. If resources are good we can save time, cost, manpower, quality, etc. Both are directly proportional
Eg:-Polavaram project in AP
c.Feasibility study and site exploration- We can't select the site without having any kind of knowledge on the soil condition. We may aware of the types of soil and their properties.
Eg:- If soil is silty soil The improvement of soil should be needed.
d.Design question and the objective tree:- The designer asks the requirements from owner and he will design the project based network diagram. i.e called a project tree that includes design, equipment, material, controlling, etc.
Eg:- Pert and CPM
e. Generally, every client need to complete their project with less cost, good serviceability, in less time and aesthetic According to owner needs and budget design the project including different stylish curves and etc
