Talk with other healthcare providers about EBP, including other providers in other disciplines. Ask about their perception about the use of research evidence to solve practice problems. Include at least three other disciplines besides nursing. Also, look at publications about EBP from other disciplines. Is their perspective of EBP the same as that of nursing? How does it differ?
Evidence-based practice is the use of scientific evidence or the research outcome evidence that is used by the health care provider for the development of high-quality care or facilities to the patient. In nursing, evidence-based practice is also used while providing care to the patient to improve the quality of nursing care.
The other disciplines besides nursing that also use EBP are physiotherapy, nutritionist and doctors. The perceptions of other disciplines regarding the use of the EBP are almost the same as nursing. They use the evidence base practice for the proper decision making, provision of appropriate treatment, and care of the individual. This will increase their professional value and quality of the care provided by them to the patient.
The only thing that differs nursing with other discipline is that nursing focus the evidence based practice to improve or provide high-quality holistic care but for another disciplines, they do not follow the holistic care indeed they focus on the provision of best treatment base by using the evidence based practice.
