Scholarly writing is a type writing that uses clear , precise and concise language and is  produced as a part of academic work. So it is also called as Academic writing. A scholarly writing incorporates evidences, create strong argument , avoid biases and care ful citation of sources.  

Difference of Scholarly writing in Academic papers and journal manuscripts:

Academic papers are a type of writing, that aimed to persuade readers of an idea or a Evidence based solution to problems. This paper is published as a part of Academic work. Examples of Academic paper are a book, critic papers , reviews, research papers , essays etc. The main type of Academic writing are persuasive, descriptive, analytical and critical . Each type of writing has its own purposes and features.
