Given information:
A 6year old child, having fever and diarrhoea visits public health department.
A child has not had his baby shots as per recommendation of CDC immunization schedule.
a)At the age of 6,the child should receive following immunizations:
As the child is having fever and diarrhoea vaccination with both live and inactivated vaccine should be delayed until the patient has recovered from the illness.(Though the CDC has recommended mild illness is not a contrindication for immunization.)
There is no evidence that an acute illness reduces vaccine efficacy or increases vaccine adverse effects. The concern is an adverse events following vaccination may complicate the management of a mderate or severe illness.
b)Assisting the family to secure immunization and well child checkups:
1)Inform the family that well child visits are essential for
2.Explain and educate about the complications of not immunizing child on time.
3)Rule out the reason for not vaccinating child on time.If any social or cultural related issuses for this,in a admissible manner educate the family to be regular for well child checkups.
