Clinical protocol: Fine needle aspiration

Background: This clinical protocol is followed to extract a piece of liquid tissue /sample from a biological source for diagnostic purposes. This protocol is routinely followed by clinicians under conditions of cancer, pregnancy and liquid biopsies.

Advantages: Using this technique, a direct extraction of biological sample is performed in order to confirm diagnosis.

Disadvantage: The primarily infected site can be miataken and left unattended due to use of unguided route of the needle during the biopsy.
