Answer: It was the responsibility of the lord to provide his vassal with a fief, to defend him, and to provide  him justice in the court.

Answer :The vassal owed his lord fealty. A violation of this obligation was a felony, deemed to be so egregious an offence that all serious offences, including those which had nothing to do regarding proper feudalism, used to be labeled felonies in England, because, in a sense, they were violations of the faith owed to the king as protector of public peace and order.

Other Duties & Responsibilities include

• Military Duties include - personal service, arranging & providing troops,work on roads and bridges
• Court duties include -security , advice in council.
• Special taxes includes monies due or contributions to events like royal marriages.

Answer : In 391AD, Christianity became the Roman Empire's official religion. The number of church increase in numbers along with power & security , they became one the most powerful institutions in Europe.The leaders of the church are by far the most educated people in society. In addition to theological matters, they were asked to assist secular leaders as counsellors on political , military, financial, judicial issues.Most important, the structure of the church helped legitimise the structure of the feudal system.
