Answer: It was the responsibility of the lord to provide his vassal with a fief, to defend him, and to provide him justice in the court.

Answer :The vassal owed his lord fealty. A violation of this obligation was a felony, deemed to be so egregious an offence that all serious offences, including those which had nothing to do regarding proper feudalism, used to be labeled felonies in England, because, in a sense, they were violations of the faith owed to the king as protector of public peace and order.
