when writing a standard operating procedure (SOP) for a light microscope, what is the purpose, scope, prerequisites and responsibilities ?

Solutions

Expert Solution

Light Microscope is a laboratory equipment which is used for the keen observation of microorganisms which can not be seen through naked eye.

Purpose: The purpose of using the light microscope is to observe the objects with proper magnification which can not be seen through naked eye.The light microscope also can be used to observe the histology sections properly.

Scope: The light microscope comes with various apparatus according to the need. We can increase the resolution according to our need. The resolution of the light microscope depends on the lens of the eye piece and objective, the resolution of light microacope can be increased upto 2000X. Even bacterial species can also be observeed throuh the microscope.

Prerequisites: The prerequisites depends on the presence and intensity of the the light in the enviournment. We can also control the quantity iof light entering the microscope. It is important because the light which enters the microscope passes through the object and we are able to observe the object and its structure. So the light is a very important factor for light microscope to observe the object.

Responsibility:  We should use the microscope with proper care and responsibility to get proper result and fine view. We should hold the microscope with both hand while transferring from one place to another. We should also clean the lens properly and regularly with soft tissue paper. We also maintain the lens and mirror properly and regularly. And we also should use very carefully when using the microscope.
