OUR UNDERSTANDING OF GENETIC INHERITANCE AND THE FUNCTION OF DNA IN PRODUCING THE CHARACTERISTICS OF THE INDIVIDUAL HAVE DEVELOPING FOR MORE THAN 150 YEARS. CONSIDER OUR CURRENT STATE OF KNOWLEDGE. LINK GENETIC CHARACTERISTICS TO DNA STRUCTURE. EXPLAIN HOW D N A THROUGH THE PROCESS OF PROTRIN SYNTHESIS IS RESPONSIBLE FOR THELTIMATE EXPRESSON OF THE CHARACTERISTICS IN THE ORGANISM. DESCRIBE HOW INTERFERENCE IN PROTEIN SYNTHESIS CAN RESULT IN DISRUPTION OF CELLULAR AND BODILY PROCESSES? HOW DOES THE SIGNIFICANE OF ONE CLASS OF PROTEINS, THE ENZMES, RELATIVE TO THE IMPORTANCE OF PROPER NUTRITION THROUGHOUT LIFE?

MENDELUSED MATHEMATICS OF EXPERIMENTATION TO DERIVE MAJOR PRINCIPAL THAT HAVE HELPED US UNDERSTAND INHERITANCE HIS IDEAS WERE TOTALLY DIFFERENT THAN THE EXPLANATION FOR PASSAGE OF CHARACTERISTICS FROM PARENTS TO OFFSPRING THAT WAS COMMON TO HIS TIME. LIST AND DESCRIBE HOW EACH CONTRIBUTES TO GENETIC VARIABILITY, HOW MIGHT BIOLOGY HAVE BE DIFFERENT IF HIS DISCOVERIES HAD NOT BEEN LOST FOR DECADE? BE PREPAREDGNIFICANCE OF MENDEL'S DISCOVERIES TO MODERN BIOLOGY.

Expert Solution

The information coded by the DNA is transcribed into RNA which is then translated into protein sequences which in turn are the building blocks of organisms. The information stored in the DNA varies from one individual to individual, and the differences in the information increases as the diversity increases.

There are several changes that might occur throughout the life in regards to the information stored in the DNA. It depends on the environmental status and very much on the nutritional food intake which can cause epigenetic changes and lead to modification of genes , reversing any deleterious effect and also helping repair of damaged DNA.

Mendel experimented with true-breeding pea plants which allowed him to avoid the appearance of unexpected traits in offspring that might occur if the plants were not true breeding and due to the fact that his findings were lost for decades allowed the scientific community to come to his terms of understanding.

The genetic term “loss of function” is used to describe any mutation in the DNA that leads to a particular protein that cannot function. There are many reasons why a protein may not be functioning any longer…digging into your knowledge on the mechanism of gene expression and gene expression regulation, describe a mutation that could lead to a loss of function mutation. Tracing inheritance of Y chromosomal DNA
In humans, the X and Y chromosomes are involved in sex determination: XX individuals are female, and XY individuals are male. Accordingly, Y chromosomes are present only in males and are passed only from fathers to sons.Mitochondria have their own genome, consisting of a single circular chromosome. Mitochondria are inherited only through the cytoplasm of the oocyte, so they are passed on by the mother, not the father. In human populations, both Y chromosomal DNA and mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA) may show...
