Ans 1. Bone ossification is process by which the new bone is produced,i.e cartilage transformed inte teh bones.
Bone formation reffred as the hardening and calcificcation of soft tissue .
Ans 2 . Bones growth in length at the epiphyseal plate by replacement of hyaline cartilage with bony tissue . Epiphysal plate also called the growth plate is hyaline cartilage plate in the metaphysis at the each end of long bone.It is part of long bone where the growth of bone takes place.
Hormones and mineral plays vital role in bone growth ,few of the hormones are as follows-
a.Parathyroid hormone (PTH) - PTH acts on the kidney to conserve calcium and to stimulate calcitriol production, which increases intestinal absorption of calcium.
b.Calcitriol- it increase intestinal absorption of calcium and phosphorus, thus supplying minerals for the bones.
c.Calcitonin - it block bone breakdown by inactivating osteoclasts , maintains bone development and normal blood calcium levels in early life.
These are the some important role of hormpone imn th bone growth and maintanance.
Role of Minerals in Bone growth -
Silicon is an essential nutrient associated with poor skeletal development.
Vitamin K is needed for complete carboxylation of osteocalcin.
These are some minerals which play vital role in bone health
