They have potentially harmful consequences for the patient as they can be life threatening and usually, a further operation isnecessary.Medical malpractice law is broken . A gossypiboma, also called textiloma or cottonoid, refers to a foreign object, such as a mass of cotton matrix or a sponge, that is left behind in a body cavity during surgery. Gossypiboma proves that the surgeon is neglect .
