• Retained foreign objects. Surgical tools and items left inside of a patient after surgery is a common form of medical malpractice. Common medical instruments left behind include needles, scalpels, clamps, scissors, sponges, electrical equipment, knife blades, among other objects.The problem of retained surgical bodies (RSB) after surgery is an issue for surgeons, hospitals and the entire medical team. They have potentially harmful consequences for the patient as they can be life threatening and usually, a further operation isnecessary.Medical malpractice law is broken . A gossypiboma, also called textiloma or cottonoid, refers to a foreign object, such as a mass of cotton matrix or a sponge, that is left behind in a body cavity during surgery. Gossypiboma proves that the surgeon is neglect . NOn maleficent ethics is not followed.The HIPAA Privacy Rule establishes national standards to protect individuals so the individual safty is not maintains and hence hippa violation . The workload now a days is too much we have to cover the lot of work so these things happen unintentionally
