There are many types of domestic policy issues; such as housing, land-use, transportation, economy/jobs, air and water quality, environmental protection, education, human and health services, social insurance, and many, many more. When it comes to social insurance programs, there are many types that are provided by government to protect individuals against loss, without regard to need. Some of these programs are very important for the quality of life for individuals in need.
In your own word, please share your thoughts concerning the United States social insurance/service programs. Are the existing programs adequate or do they need major improvements? Why/why not? Any specific examples of concerns, opportunities for improvement, and/or best practices (what is working great and/or what is not work so great)?
There have been a number of evidence based initiatives taken by previous governments, for revolutionising the manner in which federal government would be spending funds of various social programs. It is to be taken care about the manner in which government should be sponsoring programs at local levels with equal emphasis.
Also, the government requires to evaluate their different programs with the use of scientific designs, for ensuring the fact scientific data should back up the programs. It has been shown that many of the recent programs have been subject to evaluation and scientific data. Information is important not only for the public to have a confirmation or reliability, but also to improve the manner in which these programs have been working.
Improvements brought to existing programs not only occur by funding and by spending dollars, but also by bringing regular updates to the existing programs, which would be benefiting the public to a greater level.
The method of bring evidence based data to facilitate new programs, and constant improvements in the present programs, would help in bringing about more benefit in the same price spent. Only then, social programs will bring about higher impacts on various social programs.
