Bhore Committee 1943
In 1943 committee know as the Bhore committee was appointed by the Government of India to Mack a survey of the exciting health condition and formulate a comprehensive plan for halth administration including technical needed to provide medical care to as many people as possible
The main recommendations of the committee were .
1.Integration of preventive and curative service at all administrative levels.
2.A long term plan of setting up primary Health Unite with 75 bedded hospitals for 10,000to 20.000 population
Secondary Health Unite with 650 bedded hospital and District hospital with 2500 beds.
The committee also give its recommendations on many aspects of Medical and Health care including Medical and Nursing Education
India became a Member state of the W.H.O. in 1948 Community Development Programme (1952)
In 1952 the community Development Programme was lunched on 2nd October for the all round development of rural areas .
Mudhaliar committee (1959)
In 1959 the Government of indea appointed another committee know as the Mudaliar Committee to take a fresh look health needs and resource of the country in the contract of five year plan of the country and review the progress made in the field of health.
The main recommendations of Mudaliar Committee were
Revisions of GNM Syllabus in Terms of "Community Oriented Nursing practi ce"
Countie their training and role in health care must be enlarged and enriched.To do this INC has revised GNM Syllabus in terms of Community health oriented syllabus in 1986.Emphasis on community health related subjects has increased.The purpose of the GNM program is to prepare general nurse how will function as member of health team with beginning competencies for first level position in both hospital and community.teaching and learning of which must be adapted and as a result graduate of basic school of Nursing will not longer be parpered almost exclusively for curative care of hospitalised individuals.the emphasis must shift to acquiring the knowledge and skills most relevant to the health care need to the community and this must be accompanied by a corssponding change in professional attitude"
