32. The external costs to gun ownership is the cost which is not printed on the tag of the gun but actually results in loss to the society. The usage of gun damages some one's body and may also lead do death, medical expenses incurred to address this damage is external cost associated with the ownership of the gun. Some time gun usage leads to life time illness, making sufferer to bear the expense cost. amounting to huge money. All these costs and damages are external costs linked to the gun ownership.
Government can address this external cost by implementing below measures -
1. Making a proper investigation authority to find the total number of illegal guns being owned.
2. Charging the gun ownership differently based on the status if the individual. Individuals should be evaluated on his status and then being charged accordingly.
3. Restricting the licensing authority based on strict policies.
4. Declaring severe penalties on misuse of guns.
