The moral sense is biologically determined that may be either to the capacity for ehics ( i.e. the proclivity to judge human actions as either right or wronng ) . or to the moral norms accepted by human beings for guiding their actions . The capacity for ethics is a necessary attributed of human nature , where as moral codes are product of cultural evolution . Human have moral sense because their biological makeup detrmines the presence of three necessary conditions for ethical behaviour ;-
THe ability to anticipate the consequence of one's own action
The ability to make value judgement
the ability to choose between alternative courses of action
Morality is not just any old topic in psychology but close to our conception of the meaning of the life.Moral goodness is what gives each of us the sense thatwe are worthy human beings .
The morality in The shawshank Redemption is a continuum , on one extreme we have Brooks Hatlen and on opposite end we have Andy Dufresne . _-------- Andy dufresne is an innocent man condemned for killing his wife and her lover . Despite being unjustly accused and suffering in prison , Andy choose not to loose hope . Unlike Brooks hechose not to commit suicide or becomes institutionalized . His character shows existentialism , too in the sense that he committed what is seen as an immoral act ( to escape from prison) in order to maximise his happiness.
