Consider the programmability aspect of erasable non-volatile EEPLDs. Name and fully describe the electronic technology and method used to program and erase this device.

Solutions

Expert Solution

EEPLD (Electrically erasable programmable logic device) can be erased to it's orignal state using a technology - "floating-gate MOS".

PFB attached image of a floating-gate MOS transistors. It has 2 gates. The floating gate is unconnected and is surrounded by extremely high-impedance insulating material. In the orignal, manufactured state, the floating gate has no charge on it and has no effect on circuit operation. In this state, all transistors are effectively "connected"; that is there is a logical link present at every crosspoint in the AND or OR planes.

The floating gates in an EEPLD are surrounded by an extremely thin insulating layer and can be erased by applying a voltage of the opposite polarity as the charging voltage to the nonfloating gate. Thus, the same piece of equipment that is normally used to program a PLD can also be used to erase an EEPLD before programming it.

Vapour Pressure of Solutions of Non-Volatile or Volatile Solutes 22.555 g of a non-volatile solute is dissolved in 215.0 g of water. The solute does not react with water nor dissociate in solution. Assume that the resulting solution displays ideal Raoult's law behaviour. At 10°C the vapour pressure of the solution is 9.073 torr. The vapour pressure of pure water at 10°C is 9.209 torr. Calculate the molar mass of the solute (g/mol). See example 17.1 on pp865-6 of Zumdahl...

a solution is made by mixing 1.08 g of an unknown non-volatile non-electrolyte with 10.0 g of benzene. The freezing point of pure benzene is is 5.5 degrees Celsius. The molal freezing point depression constant, Kf, for benzene is 5.12 degrees Celsius per molale. What is the value of the freezing point depression? What is the molality of the solution? What is the molar mass of the unknown?

Explain with examples from readings and articles mentioned in class. please can you explain in both in about 3-4 paragraphs so I could understand more clearer.
