Cognitively impaired people have difficulty with the basic functions of brain such as perception, memory loss,concentration, and reasoning skills.Although each disorder has its own unique features , so the family members and caregivers often share common problems, situations and strategies. The main key point to care for conitively impaired patient is to be maintaining patience,copassion, and sense of humor will help to cope more effectively with with the patients.It's very important to remember that it's the disease , not the person ,causing the behaviour.

- Encourage the patient and family and carer to discuss advance care planning with each other and the care team.

- Involve the family and carer in the care planning process and provide them written information about cognitive and memory difficulties.

- Mnay helpful suggestions manage the problems of patient by communication technique,such as keeping language simple and asking question one at a time.

- Patients who exhibit disruptive behaviours may benefit from pharmacological therapy which help to determine the cause of some behaviours.

- The following simple, basic , preventive measures in health care and self-care improves the health :

1. Practicing daily exercise.

2. Eating nutritious meals and snacks.

3. Getting adequate sleep.

4. Getting regular medical check up.

- Cognitive impairment patients need special care including continous supervision,specialized communication techniques and management of difficult behaviour.
