According to McClelland theory the three manifest needs are:
- Need for Achievement: This need manifest to focus upon the
achievement of goals ,the person pursues his / her goals
passionately with full dedication and enthusiasm.The individuals
belonging to this group like new challenges and heights in
achievement of their goals and aims.
- Need for affiliation: The individuals seek liking and
acceptance of the people with whom they interact in this type of
need.They like to establish harmonious and cordial relationship
during the interaction with others.
- Need for control: The type of need manifested here is
control.The people who wants to control the people and
circumstances can be categorized in this category.
Example:
Excelling in class performance is an example of Achievement
need.
Becoming a popular student among teachers and class is an
example of Affiliation need.
To aspire to be the leader of students union/ committee/ class
is an example of Power need.
