do you think that if a CFO is risk taking by nature she or he would do differently for capital investment programs and financial reporting behaviors? How a MBA-educated CFO vs. accounting-educated CFO would behave differently?
A CFO with risk taking by nature would do differently in Capital Investing Decisions of the Entity, but doesn't do differently with respect to the Financial Reporting behaviors. Since Financial reporting is the Key ingredient for good Corporate Governance. And any false or different reporting may mislead the users of the Financial statements. It is reporting on the entity's financial position, performance and changes, therefore there is nothing to do differently for the CFO in reporting.
Companies doesn't require CFO to be an expert in accounting. In the emerging corporate world, CFO stand as a business partners to CEOs in making strategic decisions of the business.
MBA-educated CFOs unlike accounting educated CFO doesn't hang themselves in the treasury and accounting matters. MBA-educated CFOs focus on the Strategic Square of the business and consider macro factors for its growth. Instead growth I can say it a overall development. While the accounting-based CFO focus on the market growth, thee MBA-educated CFO focus on relative market share.
