Grading provides students with feedback on their own learning, and helps to identify their strength and weakness in learning and where they can improve. Grading also provides feedback to instructors on their students’ learning. There by the teachers also can improve their method of teaching.
Create assignments that have clear goals and criteria for assessment. The better students can easily understand and can perform better.
In many situation a teacher have to face conflicts with students over grades and assignments.

Behaviors which are rewarded are more likely to recur. So the teacher has to make sure to give positive feedback, verbal or written, highlighting the desirable behavior, instead of the shortcomings, as and when demanded, so as to reinforce the student’s desirable behavior
Threat & punishment
Threat & punishment have variable and uncertain effects upon learning. They may make the punished response more or less likely to recur or they may setup avoidance tendencies which prevent further learning.
