In what way(s) do the characters in The Inheritance of My Father and Blackness reflect the philosophy of the contemporary writers? How do the themes they explore overlap with and differ from the other period writers? (250 words)
"The Inheritance of My Father" reflects the deep analysis of the author's self-discovery. It focuses on the past of the black people who are advanced now. Buy in spite of their advancement and development they should not forget their past. Now, they live with luxury in America. But their root is bound to the black community of Africa. They are not out of their black inheritance. The book bears the identity crisis of the black people. They are really in great problem taking their identity.
It is the autobiography of Barack Obama. The author says his early life and the various problems he faced in his early age. He did not get the company and care of his father. He shows how a father can be irresponsible to his own children. The characters are the realistic presentation and therefore different from the other contemporary writers. The author shows that his family members did not have anybracial prejudices and therefore such characters are different.
The theme of the book proves that the idea is different and absolutely practical. It is different from the other writers because it does not emphasize the conventional theme of racism and prejudices. The book depicts the people around him including both white and black. All the characters are real and appears more flesh and blood. There are descriptions of the author's education and progress. He praises those who help him. His racial relation and memory do not reflect any hatred. The main character is presented as an object of lesson to the future generation.
