The NURSE-CLIENT relationship is a bond between two people, one is a nurse and the other is a patient. Both bring something to this relationship and both need something from it.The clint brings his discomfort and needs some kind of caring from the nurse, and the nurse brings her professional skills and her need for a measure of sucess and satisfaction in carrying out her role. when the needs of both patient and client are met, it become a stronger person because of the experience that brought them together.
The use of therapeutic communication in nurse and client relationship is important because it increases the patient's participation in their care, and accelerates their recovery through patient education. This process must be based on the nurse's willing and unconditional offering of self and their time to the clients and their needs with only self disclosure by the nurse that directly assist the client with meeting their needs.
ANSWERS-
(A) the most important concern about mental health nursuing is that while they practice , they face the issue of patients that"mental health care users deny mental illness" and the challenges associated with exposure to patient's unpredictable behaviour.
Phychiatric Nurses also exposed to increased levels of aggression and voilence and they reported experencing feeling of anger and frustration, as well as high level of buruout.
(B) I'm interested in mental health nursuing because in this field there is alot of things that have to be change in a way that nurses wont't suffer anything. I think the measures and the way of handling the mental ill patient has to be be improved. Thats why Im interesed in the mental health nursuing.
(C) The good nurse-client relationship have five key components- professional intimacy, power, empathy, respect and trust. The lenght of interaction is important wheather the nurse is primary or secondary care provider.
(D)To established good rapport and professional relationship with a patient in the work is to first
-INTRODUCE YOURSELF- introducing who you are and your role. It shows your patient tha you are there to care for them. EX- "Hi,Mr. James . My name is Kille and I'll be your nurse for next ten hours. What name do you like to be called?"
-LISTENING- means assessing and understanding. EX- Apatient with dementia who frequently say things like,"I want to go home!" Responding with "This is your home " or You can't go home" or "Have some ice cream" are all invalidating. Instead , say things like ,"You seem sad that you're not home "or "going home is really important to you isn't it?" By doing this you show them that you respect how they feel, even if you can't help them in the way they like. By doing this you open the door to learning more about their feelings and experences, and this can improve care.
-LEARN ABOUT LIFE OUTSIDE THE HOSPITAL- Ask your patient what they do in their regular lives, what their interests are and where they're from. This shows your patient that they 're more to you than just the cardiac in room number 777 and dibetic in 98.
Maintain your eye contact and give them chance to keep their words.
(E) Verbal techniques- what we speak or write and how something is said; whether the tone or volume matches the message; whether friendly words are said in irritable pitch or one word or phrase emphasised above anything. Tone, volume, pitch, fluency, speed of speech , counisously or uncounsiously.
Non Verbal techniques- Body language is the important technique along with this the layout or decoration of room , someone's clothing r appearence can also communicate. Along with body language the facial expression, eye contact, touch, physical reactions(blushing, breathing rapidly).
