Duality of human nature belongs to both the side of a human being. That is good & evil. Duality is essential concept must be understand by people. It teaches us every aspect of life.

In THE LOTTERY suggest that any action or ideas that is passed down from one to another generation are accepted weather it is good , cruel or illigal.LOTTERY taking place in the village for a long time ago.  

In this way the LOTTERY is the external conflict of the person vs society . Because tradition of the village that cause Tessie Hutchinson to be killed a other person per a year before her. They are doing a wrong way of controlling population.

In THE LOTTERY the author examine on basis of human nature . This suggest whether or not all humans are capable or not for violence & cruality. And exploring how those natural inclination can be directed.
