Past medical and social history positive for a minor cerebral vascular accident when he was 50 years old but without any residual motor or sensory defects. No history of alcohol or tobacco use. medications is clopidogrel 75 mg po qd. Neurological testing confirms the diagnosis of AD. Question: What is Alzheimer’s Disease and how does amyloid beta factor into the development and progression of the disease?
Alzheimer disease is a progressive disease that destroyed memory and other mental functions. It is a type of dementia that affects memory, thinking and behavior.
Alzheimer's is not really a old age problem it also can happens in under the age of 65.But the great know risk factor is increasing age. This disease is a progressive type of disease ,memory loss in Early stage is less then it gradually increases and affects their ability to carry out activities. It also affects their conversations and response to the environment.
Usually there is no cure in disease .we can't stop the progression of the disease also .but we can try to improve quality of life by providing good care .
Symptoms of Alzheimer's is difficulty to remember newly learned information. As they go further can varied the symptoms like serious memory loss , confusion, disorientation, mood and behavior changes, and various changes in the way of our doing things.
ROLE OF AMYLOID BETA FACTOR IN THE DEVELOPMENT AND PROGRESSION OF ALZHEIMER.
Our brain has 100billion of nerve cells to help us to do special jobs like thinking, learning, remembering and to use our sensors.
There are two abnormal structures called plaques and tangles as suspects in damaging and killing nerve cells.
When we getting age these can develope automatically. And we believe that these factors play a critical role in blocking of communication among the nerve cells and destroying them from the need to survive. This can cause death of nerve cells that cause memory loss, personality changes, problems carrying out daily activities.
In Alzheimer's this beta amyloids comes in several different molecule forms that connects between neurons.one form of protein called beta amyloid 42 is thought as toxic.these deposits in between neurons and disrupt cell function. As they increases by the time and it make worsen the client condition.
These factors affects person who is affected with disease in their daily living .late stage of disease can devolepe brain shrinks because of the brain cell damage .The late stage totaalybwill affects whole functions of a client including activities, swallowing and elimination process.
By providing good quality of care can maintain quality of life.
