How has information technology changed the job of a secretary? Can you think of cases where part or all of a secretary’s job has been replaced by computers? Explain.
Technology as we know was here to help, little did we know that it world start replacing the mankind.the role of secreatry was considered very important as it ensured admisitrative running of the firm which included various activies like, record keeping, answering phones, dealing with letters, making appointment etc.But post technology coming into existence there task list has reduced and so has their importance i.e.letters now have taken place of emails, appointment schedule can be now fixed over phones and smart watches along with the reminders.Today, the computer has made these jobs obsolete and with all of the improvements of voice recognition, computers are now also able to type for you as you talk.
For companies looking to save money, the idea of being able to replace a human, that can work 24/7 with little pay, no benefits, and often faster with fewer errors is more beneficial then hiring a secretary for the same work.
